Climate Action Program Page (Our Planet, Our Common Home)

Program Overview

This program combines environmental education with practical action. It strengthens climate literacy while mobilising children and youth to participate in restoration and sustainability efforts—building a generation of environmentally conscious citizens.

How the Program Works

Step 1: Environmental Education and Awareness
We deliver age-appropriate learning modules through schools, community centres, and foundation-led workshops.

Core learning themes include:

  • Climate change, biodiversity, pollution, sustainable living

  • Waste reduction, water conservation, soil protection

  • Reforestation and ecosystem rehabilitation

  • Wildlife conservation and human–wildlife coexistence

  • Nature care guided by Our Planet, Our Common Home

Delivery methods include:

  • Interactive sessions, storytelling, art, and games

  • Guest talks from environmentalists and conservation partners

  • Educational engagements linked to real-world learning

Step 2: Practical Community Action
We move from learning to action through restoration and sustainability initiatives led by youth and supported by partners.

Key Activities (Strategic Implementation)

A) Sensitisation and Awareness Raising on Climate Change

  • Establish eco-clubs and climate education activities

  • Conduct community meetings and awareness sessions

  • Facilitate sensitisation engagements, including learning visits to relevant conservation spaces (where applicable)

B) Environmental Restoration — Tree Planting

  • Mobilise youth for environmental action

  • Identify areas that need restoration

  • Conduct tree planting exercises in schools and communities

C) Creating Food Forests

  • Awareness raising on food forests and sustainable livelihoods

  • Establish food forests using fruit trees (e.g., mangoes, papaya, avocados, oranges, guavas, lemons, etc.)

D) Plastic Collection

  • Plastic collection exercises at schools and communities to reduce pollution and encourage responsible waste management
